What is Health?

What is Health, is there an alternative ?

It is a relative term that reflects one’s state of health, to me being a physician in alternative/functional medicine I look at health through a telescope understanding the intricate parts of our physiology to enhance bodily functions through cell’s natural physiology.

The purpose of my practice is to eliminate toxins both internally from inflammation and poor diet and externally from the environmental toxins, to introduce anti-oxidants which fight free radicals and hinder disease progression. To initiate healthy eating habits mainly grain free, dairy free and refined sugar free habits to sustain a healthy state while continually performing treatments through herbal medicines prescriptions, acupuncture and wet cupping to fight inflammation, infection and toxicity in the body which in essence are what causes disease.

Why is Health important

Health is important as it helps us live our lives to the fullest without aches or pains, most people often feel pain everyday and think its normal eg normal to have sinusitis, normal to have joint pain and even further down the track chronic pain from disease, normal to live with this diseased state where conventional medicine has no cure for.

Situations where conventional medicine says ‘idiopathic cause and physiology’ is in translation ‘I don’t know how to treat you, I don’t understand what or how this disease occurred and to treat it, how about you try this drug’ trial and error with your health.

Medications are not a fix, its usually a Band-Aid such as pain medications with over the counter (OTC) drugs such as Panadol, Ibuprofen or prescription only (PO) such as morphine (narcotic) to impede pain signals from the brain to the site of injury. They work to change how your body feels and responds to pain. The importance of pain is to allow the individual to understand there is something wrong that needs fixing. There are often side-effects to these medications. For example, morphine medicines can cause stomach upsets like nausea as well as long term use will be addictive thus withdrawals reactions will occur when off the medications.

In my upcoming blogs I will discuss many classes of pharmaceutical medications, their implications and natural alternatives that work in a similar manner.

My personal mission

My personal mission is to bring people more awareness about health and there are other real options that can stimulate an improved state of health and a better way of life. My mission is not to bad mouth conventional medicine, not to disrespect its principle and its wonderful advancements but to help people recognise its not the only solution for your poor health.

The ideal is to work together as equal physicians trying to find the best solution for the patient.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Why do we use it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
